Car Safety

We carried out a survey to find out how many of our children were travelling safely in their cars.

We came into school early one day to raise awareness about travelling safely in the car.We set up outside so that parents could check their children against 'Hugo' our measuring board, to see if they needed to be using a booster seat.

In the afternoon, we measured all of our KS2 children to see if they needed a booster seat to travel safely in the car and we kept a tally of whether they needed one and if they already used one.

We found that 45 of our KS2 pupils were below 135cms and so, by law, needed a booster seat.
Unfortunately we found that 36% of these pupils did not have one.
We gave out leaflets to advise parents and to help raise awareness of the issue.
